TimerMood counts completed focus sessions, focus minutes and break minutes only locally, so you can review your day without tracking.

What the Stopwatch is

The Stopwatch measures elapsed time upward from zero. It is useful when you do not know the duration in advance or want to observe how long something really takes.

TimerMood keeps the stopwatch simple: a readable display, pause, reset, fullscreen and local visual settings without reports or account-based tracking.

How the Stopwatch works

  1. 1Press Start when the activity begins.
  2. 2Use Pause when the measurement should stop temporarily without resetting.
  3. 3Press Reset when you want to begin a fresh measurement from zero.
  4. 4Adjust size, color and display style if the stopwatch needs to be read from farther away.

When to use this timer

  • When you want to learn how long a task actually takes.
  • When a countdown would create unnecessary pressure.
  • When training, a talk rehearsal or a test run should stop freely.

Who should use this timer

  • Coaches, teachers and speakers who need to observe real elapsed time.
  • Freelancers or teams learning how long repeated tasks actually take.
  • Anyone who wants a quick measurement tool without a spreadsheet or tracking app.

Practical examples

  • Measure how long a recurring admin task takes before planning the week.
  • Time a practice talk and decide where the script needs trimming.
  • Use it for technique drills, QA passes or short physical efforts.

Benefits

  • A stopwatch shows real duration instead of guessed duration.
  • It creates less pressure than a countdown because there is no deadline at zero.
  • Measured time can make future planning more realistic.

Limitations

  • A stopwatch does not limit an activity automatically.
  • Without a clear purpose, measurement can become observation without action.
  • For alternating work and rest periods, the Interval Timer is a better fit.

Recommended settings

  • Digital with Mono font for precise reading.
  • Minimal and large size for talks or training from a distance.
  • Clean background when the stopwatch stays beside work material.

Customization ideas

  • Choose a calm text color for long observation.
  • Use Solid buttons when Start and Pause need to be fast to reach.
  • Set fullscreen to Immersive for a clear display without the side panel.

Recommended setups

Study setup

Digital, medium size and Clean background for measuring reading time.

Work setup

Focus card, Solid buttons and subtle accent for task measurements.

Relaxed setup

Minimal, soft colors and no sound for free routines.

Fullscreen setup

Large minimal display, Immersive fullscreen and high text contrast.

Tips for useful measurements

  • Write down exactly what you are measuring so the result is comparable later.
  • Pause during interruptions if you only want active working time.
  • Use several short measurements when a task has very different parts.

Privacy note

TimerMood does not store measured times as history. Only local display settings can remain in your browser.

FAQ

Does the Stopwatch count up?

Yes. It starts at zero and shows elapsed time.

Can I use it for work time tracking?

It can help you measure time, but TimerMood does not create reports or store personal work records on a server.

How is it different from a Countdown Timer?

A countdown has a planned end. A stopwatch measures how long something actually lasts.

Can I make the display larger?

Yes. Use the size setting or fullscreen mode when the timer needs to be visible from a distance.

Are my color settings saved?

Yes. Visual settings are saved only in localStorage on your device.

Can the stopwatch save lap times?

No. TimerMood stays lightweight and does not store lap lists or activity history.
